Marjolein Helder (1983) graduated as a PhD on electricity generation from living plants at the sub-department of Environmental Technology of Wageningen University in November 2012. Since then, she’s been working full-time as Plant-e’s CEO. With a PhD in environmental technology and a minor in entrepreneurship and management, she is well equipped to run a technology-based company. Her active engagement in several boards (a.o. alumni association KLV, Rugby Club Wageningen) combined with her positive attitude and energy has led to a vast network in the Netherlands and abroad.
David Strik (1975) is assistant professor at the sub-department of Environmental Technology of Wageningen University. He got his PhD cum-laude at the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences in Vienna, Austria in 2004 as an environmental-biotechnologist. Before that he studied Environmental Technology at WageningenUniversity and HAS Den Bosch, the Netherlands. In his work as researcher David performed the first experiments with electricity generation from plants. He is co-inventor of the technology and obtained and patented the proof-of-technology in 2007. Currently David spends 4 days a week at WageningenUniversity and 1 day a week on Plant-e’s R&D.

Pim de Jager (1986) did his BSc Environmental sciences, followed by a MSc Environmental Technology. He did two minors in Sustainable Molecular Science & Technology and Sustainable Building at the Universities of Leiden, Delft, Eindhoven and Wageningen, and finished with his graduation project titled "Interpretation of power curves applied on P-MFCs", graduating in February 2013 at the Wageningen University. His interest in bringing new technology into practice and his hands on approach led him to Plant-e. Since June 2013 he works for Plant-e's R&D, further developing Plant-e's concept into applicable products.
